Corporate TCAS II/ACAS II interrogates transponders of surrounding aircraft at the maximum allowed range of 40 miles and displays the relative positions of these aircraft. The TPU 67A processor performs closure-rate and evasive-maneuver computations. Beam steering is accomplished by the processor, allowing a smaller more aerodynamic directional antenna, the four-element ANT-67A. Patented interferometry processing and advanced antenna design improve direction/bearing reporting accuracy to +-2 degrees. The IVA 81D combined Traffic Advisory/Vertical Speed Indicator utilizes flat-panel active-matrix liquid crystal technology, and presents traffic advisories, resolution advisories, and vertical speed on one integrated 34-ATI instrument. The light-weight, compact "diversity" version MST 67A Mode S Transponder provides the datalink between TCAS-equipped aircraft to coordinate evasive maneuvers. Choose the KFS 578A compact 2.25 X 2.1-inch "Gold Crown" style control head with gas-discharge display. Corporate and regional airline TCAS 1 interrogates transponders of surrounding aircraft at the maximum allowed range of 40 miles and displays their relative positions. The TPU 66A processor performs closure-rate computations. Beam steering is accomplished by the processor, allowing a smaller more aerodynamic directional antenna, the four-element ANT 67A. Patented interferometry processing and antenna design improve direction/bearing reporting accuracy. A choice of displays is available. The IVA 81D utilized flat-panel active matrix liquid crystal technology on a 3-ATI instrument. The IVA 81D is a combined Traffic/Vertical Speed display. Traffic can also be displayed on the Multi-Function display (MFD) of a Bendix/King EFS 40 or EFS 50 Electronic Flight Instrument System (EFIS) or on compatible weather radars using the GC 362A Radar Graphics Computer. Both radars and MFDs can display traffic, weather, or traffic and weather simultaneously. The Dzus-width CP 66B control panel facilitates selection of TCAS range and provides for a momentary actual altitude display (replacing the relative altitude display for approximately 15 seconds). It provides selection of the above, normal, or below setting to allow the pilot to monitor airspace primarily above, primarily below, or vertically centered on the TCAS-equipped aircraft.
